What is GDF-8?
GDF-8 is a member of the TGF superfamily that controls the growth and function of cardiac and skeletal muscles. It is thought that this substance has the potential ability to prevent myogenesis. By regulating the quantity and size of muscle fibers, the secreted protein myostatin controls the growth of skeletal muscle.
